If your female latch is sitting inside the channel, you will always need an Adaptor Panel.

  • Option 2: ADAPTOR $

Adaptor allows you to lock BOTH GLASS & SCREEN DOORS into an adaptor.

An adaptor is a long skinny panel that gets installed next to pet door insert. Adaptor is used for 2 options:

    1. close BOTH glass and fly screen door into an adaptor, and/or
    2. If your female latch is sitting inside the channel, you will always require an adaptor as you will need to relocate internal female latch to an adaptor.

Adaptor comes in 3 sizes: 2.1m, 2.5m and 3m tall. You will need to cut the adaptor and fit it into your track.

Wonderful feature about adaptor is that you can lock your security screen door into adaptor, enjoy breeze coming inside your home and keep unwanted bugs outside!

  • Option 3: ADAPTOR + L PROFILE $

    Adaptor for Stacker Doors

If you have stacker doors and measurement from glass sliding door up to the fly screen door is more than 11cm, you will need to purchase 1x ADAPTOR and 1x L Profile, which is an adaptor extender. Wider track - what to do:

Is your bottom glass sliding door track wider than 3.3cm?

If your glass sliding door  tracks are wider than standard, you will need to sit the pet door insert on top of the rail, as shown on the photo.

Purchase a Plate $5 to create an angle bracket. One screw goes into bottom of the pet door insert and other leg of the bracket is extended to the end of the track. This will give a pet door extra stability once installed and you will be able to align the locks nicely together.

NARROW TRACKS & What To Do

Is your glass sliding door tracks narrow? 22-25mm wide

If your glass sliding door  tracks are less than 26mm wide, you will need 2 legs for the bottom of the pet door insert.

Legs are required for a track width between 22 – 25mm wide.

How to remove corner clip from the semi hard flap?

Is your flap fmagnetic closure too strong for doggie or a cat?

If you just got your new Patio Link Pet door insert and your doggie is little unsure how to use the flap, we recommend to remove 1 or both corner black clips from the flap. These clips are not glued on, they are firmly wedged on.

Both of these clips are attracted to the internal magnet inside the rise and by removing them, it will make it easier for doggie to push the flap and use it.

Keep those clips somewhere safe because when you do decide to put them back on, you can wedge them back on the flap and use a pair of pliers to squeeze them on the flap to stay.

Another tip: You can get a long piece of string, lift the flap up all the way and tie the string under the flap to keep the flap open. Tie the string around the black knob under the top adjustable panel. Once doggie or cat goes through the flap area a few times, he/she will get confident and happy to go through the  pet door. Take off the string and let doggie/cat now use the pet door with a flap on.

Do you have Double Sliding Doors?

Our pet door inserts can connect and slide with your double sliding doors.

We have special wheels that can be inserted  at the bottom inside of our pet door insert.  You place the pet door insert into your glass sliding door channel and relocate your existing female latch to either a locking bracket or an adaptor.

Next step is to connect the pet door insert to the sliding door frame in area where female latch used to sit.

Simply put 1 screw through the existing screw hole to connect pet door insert through the frame.

If existing female latch screw hole is pointing opposite direction  or is further away of reach to the pet door insert, then you will need 2x PLATES $5ea to connect pet door to frame.

Plate is a great bracket as it allows you to install and connect pet door to your sliding door frame without any damage to your frame.

IMPORTANT TO CHECK THESE MEASUREMENTS:

  • How wide is your bottom track of your glass sliding door?

In order for wheels to work, your bottom track needs to be 2.6cm or more. If your bottom track is less than 2.6cm wide, wheels will NOT work and you will need to purchase 2 little legs to go at the bottom inside of the pet door insert. These two legs will allow pet door insert to slot into your bottom track. (legs will only accomodate bottom tracks between 23-27mm wide). You wont be able to slide the pet door once legs are inserted.

  • How wide is your  side channel where female latch is?

Your side vertical channel where female latch is located must be 2cm or more, in order for a pet door insert to slot into side channel.
